Beat the bugs with FREE hand hygiene stations for all NHS trusts
NHS trusts will find it easier to fight infection with the announcement of FREE SaniPost hand sanitiser stations for hospitals across England and Wales.
NHS Supply Chain announced this week that it is now offering the complimentary automatic hand cleaning units in a bid to help healthcare trusts tackle infections such as MRSA and C. difficile.

The units dispense sanitiser via a sensor-operated device when hands are placed inside, negating the risk of cross-infection as no surfaces are touched.

Roger West, procurement director at NHS Supply Chain, said: “We are proud to offer such a great solution for trusts. Not only will the stations help fight the risk of infection, but the units are provided free of charge by SaniPost, which is great news as trusts look for efficiency savings.”

SaniPost hand hygiene systems are available free to NHS trusts

Each unit is 6ft tall, making them stand out and encouraging good hand hygiene, and the dispensers can be filled with any product chosen by the trust. The unit can also help reduce costs and environmental impact compared with standard hand-washing as the stations do not require water or electricity, but instead are operated by batteries which last approximately 75,000 cycles.

Warren Edmondson, managing director of SaniPost, said: “There has been growing concern recently around the spread on infection and we are happy to allay these fears by installing SaniPost in NHS hospitals. The stations allow for better infection control because there is no need to touch buttons or levels.”

Trusts can order direct quoting NHS Supply Chain reference number SAN1267 and maintenance of all units is all free.
